SOUTH WOOD COUNTY YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION Board of Directors’ Meeting Minutes South Wood County Rec. Center May 15, 2006
Attendance: The meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM by President, Dave Steinhilber. Board Members present were Candy Blakeslee, Bernie Esselman, Eileen Hillila, Daniel Janik, Kelly Lamb, Carmella Lyp, Jane Overfelt, Lynn Schroer, Dave Steinhilber, and Jess Yenter. Doug Krueser was absent.
Guest: Dan Paulsen
President’s Report: Dave Steinhilber reported that Jennifer Esselman has submitted her resignation from the Board. Steinhilber thanked Jennifer for her years of service. This one year position will be filled by an interested association member. Members need to fill out a nomination form. These will be sent out in the June newsletter. Following the SWCYHA bylaws, interested parties will be voted on by the Board.
Registration: A proposal is being put together to hold registration at the rink in July on several evenings. This would be done instead of registration via the mail.
Tournaments: Dan Paulsen reported to the Board that SWCYHA will not be hosting a state tournament next year. The Board discussed adding another tournament in its place. A discussion was held regarding the format of tournaments with the possibility of doing tournaments with two of our teams entered so that we can pull workers from two teams rather than one. Kelly Lamb will be the tournament director for the 2006-2007 season. Tournament dates need to be set by July to be entered into the WAHA booklet.
WIAA Girls: The Board discussed the WIAA Girls’ volunteer hours.
Concessions: Discussion was held regarding guidelines in the concession stand. Deposits from the concession stand will be made nightly.
Committees: Board members reviewed the SWCYHA committees. Appointments were made for a majority of the committees. More discussion will be held at the next meeting. The Board will be looking for volunteers within the organization to fill some of the committees.
Volunteer Hours: The Board looked at the volunteer hours compiled for all association members. Members who fell short of their 25 hours will be receiving a letter from the Board letting them know that they are short and giving them options to make up their time if they do not want to pay the money owed. Families are charged $10 an hour for volunteer hours.
WR Parade: A budget limit of $200 was approved M2 (Yenter, Janik) to be used for the Wisconsin Rapids parade on June 24, 2006. Carmella Lyp is heading this.
The next meeting has been scheduled for Monday, June 5, 2006, 6:00 PM, at the South Wood County Rec. Center
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:48 PM. M/2 (Steinhilber/Lamb) Carried. |
